Maybe something plain.

When you were planted,
did you dream of a future
where you’d be cherished?

Carefully chosen,
handled with care and nurtured,
a space picked for you.

Your fragrant boughs
hold treasured memories, and new,
draped with light and love.

Your time is up soon,
but you’ll live on in their hearts
as their Christmas tree.
