Ode to Real Life
IRL is hard to find, and much needed.

In Real Life we rarely get,
An undiscovered wilderness.
Reality is screens and drones,
And loneliness abounds.
We crave secure relationships,
And discover loneliness.
Gone are the days of bikes and parks,
The forts and dirt and Noah’s arks.
Replaced by skim bikini pics,
And Snapchat messages.
We want and wish and text away,
The hours of each passing day.
Tree climbing is a thing far past,
Warm summer days dismissed.
Blue screens fill up expanding voids,
With everlasting noise.
The cure - to just return,
To simple joys of Earth.
Dinner at the table too,
And card games with our youth.
O’ Real Life you are so rare,
And greatly needed here.
