Ode to Our Superheroes

Today’s the day we give a few special family members a brief salute - our grandparents.

We love having them in our lives, which they enrich with their knowledge of historical events, entertaining stories, and jokes, no matter how bad they are. Let's not forget that many of them are also our babysitters! Like many others, mine, who have sadly passed, served as a second set of parents when mine were away at work.

Indeed, they are superheroes who rein our youthful rebelliousness in. They discipline when we go out of hand.

And they are always ready with treats and little nuggets of consolation when we need them.

This day, let's give these superheroes a hug. Happy Grandparents Day.
