Ode To Amy Winehouse

Her music a tribute to her heart

An Ode To Amy Winehouse

Her voice, a river of raw emotion,

tangled in jazz and heartbreak,

a melody that spoke what words could not.

The beehive high,

the liner bold—

a woman in a world that couldn’t hold her.

She wore her pain like a crown,

wore her love like a tattoo

across every note she sang.

Whiskey and soul,

she danced with both,

her heart laid bare

for all to hear.

The stage was her home,

but it never felt like enough—

she gave and gave,

but the world took too much.

She sang of searching,

of being lost,

of finding beauty

in the brokenness.

Amy

your voice still lingers,

a smoky thread in the air,

a haunting memory of a life

too full of fire

to last forever.

Gone, but not forgotten—

a spirit too strong to silence,

your music lives,

etched in our hearts.

Rest in peace now,

you were the best,

but just couldn’t see it

too much pain,

too little time.

I deliberately searched for an Amy Winehouse poem and found yours Marie. Really nicely written and a fine tribute. There has never been anyone quite like her and never will be again. My favourite song is 'You sent me flying' off the Frank album. I wish I had seen her live at her peak. Everything she sang was in a flow state. She makes me cry. Her picture sits above my desk as I write this.

A good tribute to her and songs were ones to in a way tell a story.

A lovely tribute… You may want to correct Whinehouse to Winehouse. 😉
