We took a trip back in time

On our journey that night

To a time when things were simpler

And quite sublime

When our song started playing

I looked into your eyes

You looked back into mine

And we both started singing

Our soul's old connection

Sparked anew with each verse

Smiling and embracing it

Brought an air of perfection

For a moment time froze

And we were once again like we were

Those nights we were falling in love

The past felt immediately close

For a moment, the spark was there again

For that night, everything was okay

Looking into your eyes I was sure

We had finally remedied the pain

But the next day the moment was over

And the distance had grown back so cold

But we aren't quite strangers, are we?

I'll just call it closure.
