Not For You
"There's no greater mysteries than those contained within the chambers of the human heart"
By Shane NeufeldPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

How hard a thing it is for me, to not be the one for you
I’ve shown you all my tricks, demonstrating my quickness and wit, like a sidewalk magician desperate for your patronage
But you’re not interested in all that
You’ve spent hours browsing the aisles of my brain and it’s contents, it comes up short on your list, every time
I know what interests you, and I could pretend for awhile, but eventually the mask would slip
You would see me for what I always was, and I would feel ashamed for misleading you, ashamed for being just me
So best to keep things where they are, in their proper place
Maybe you’ll find what you’re looking for, and maybe I will too.
How hard a thing it is for me, to not be the one for you.
