Nosferatu’s Lullaby

A Haunting Cradle Song from the Depths of the Night

Hush, my darling, night is near,

Shadows writhe and whispers leer.

Moonlight drowns in inky tide,

Lay you down, let dark abide.

The winds now moan, the floorboards creak,

A presence stirs, so frail, so sleek.

A bony hand, a hollow grin,

Scratching soft—please let me in.

Teeth like needles, cold as frost,

Once they kiss, all hope is lost.

Lashes flutter, breath runs thin,

Sleep now, child—your dreams begin.

No more hunger, no more pain,

No more sun to rise again.

Hush, my darling, don’t you weep,

Nosferatu sings you deep.
