Nightfall

It’s time to tell today goodbye, but yellow light reflecting off the lake from the sky catches my eye.

I’m so infatuated with this beautiful sight. A yellow circle of a beautiful light. It always makes a beautiful night.

I have a night owl date with my nesty bed, the comfort zone where I rest my head.

This is the part where I rest my mind. Drifting off into sleep as I leave my worldly nest behind.

I can’t help but think something is coming soon. Something that has every thing to do with this fullest moon.

Maybe evidence is right there. Is the yellow light in the sky a dream or a nightmare?

I close my eyes getting ready for sleep, but before I can sleep deep, outside my door I hear something creep.

I get up, investigate and open the door and find a dark winged creature rising up from the floor.

My heart starts racing. Dear God, what am I facing. This yellow eyed creature starts chasing.

He grabs my arm, I pull away, but he’s stronger. I try to run away, but the hallway keeps getting longer.

I resist him with all of my might. As I continue to fight he opens his mouth ready to take a bite.

When it looks like I’m gonna get ate up, my eyes half open as I begin to wake up.

Everything wasn’t as scary as it seemed. I now realize that it was just a bad dream.

As I make this analysis I realize I can’t move, uh oh, it’s my sleep paralysis.

I can’t get up, can’t relax or self soothe. My bones are frozen and I’m unable to move.

When I try to move my limbs I’m shot with pain. I can’t scream or fully open my eyes. I’m going insane.

My rapid eye movement starts, but that’s not all. The scary creature from my dreams crawls out of the wall.

I realize nowhere is safe for me. He has a menacing grin and he won’t get away from me.

As he gets closer I use every bit of strength to rise out of my bed realizing it was all in my head.

I wake up in sweat escaping my mental doom and I look out the window towards the big yellow moon.

I now realize the melatonin that this moon released caused my episode with this mental beast.

Before I Go back to sleep and let my eyes fall, I must remember the beauty-full moon that caused me pain in this noctem nightfall.
