No Victimless Garden

Be alert

By Shianne JacksonPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

P

Alone a flower sits in a frozen field of ice

it's alluring color waiting always to entice

it's lonely days are dwindling as sun rays flutter down

the angel light creating a gorgeous golden crown

a couple wonders by looking for a unique prize

it wasn't long before the crimson peddles caught their eyes

the gentle soul reaches out to pluck it from the dirt

the unsuspecting john doe should have been more alert

the building tension escalates breaching the cold surface

roots shooting out to find their maliced purpose

the sun reflects the blood in a shimmery red prism

and all the flowers wilt before they too can be a victim

surreal poetry
