No Room at the Pictures
No room at the pictures
so we walked instead
laughing at nothing
hands warm, pockets deep
The world didn’t mind
that we had no plan
the stars came out early
and the moon looked up
We bought chips
sat on a wall
hot, salty, too many
but we ate them all
You said something daft
I nearly choked laughing
and for once
the night didn’t ask us to hurry
No room at the pictures
so we made our own scene
just two fools
under streetlights
not needing a screen

Such a beautiful night. We don't even have a movie theater now. They have all closed up. Guess we will have to take that walk. Nicely Done Marie
Such a tender little snapshot of a night that didn’t go as planned — and ended up better because of it. A beautiful reminder that connection doesn’t need a setting, just presence.
Beautiful poem 💖
