New pair of shoes

A poem for young readers

By Nova RaePublished 5 years ago 1 min read
A picture of my niece (now in her 30’s).

I wish I had a new pair of shoes.

The kind that will let me dance until two.

Perhaps a bright shiny pair,

Or maybe some with little fuzzy hairs.

I could get some with Velcro straps

Or some that match the color of my cap.

Ooooo the things I could do

With a new pair of shoes.

But you know,

the ones I have now are not so old.

They make me feel brave and bold.

Yes I think this pair will do just fine.

I can get from here to there

Any old time.
