When you are far, my rails freeze over
leaving no where to hold, to climb, or shine
chilling the lamp inside my soul
but when my hazel eyes beam the horizon
warm arms of light reach out to you
pulling you back to my shores in this colder land
up here in the desolate north
As you draw your sail toward my rocky shore
ice melts over my curves
dripping memories of adoration all over me
that have now since frozen solid
The most patient of surfers
I wait for your wake
Steadfastly, riding the swells that pull you toward me
like a tropical current
I am a maverick of time for you
surviving the low tides
and embracing the high ones
It is my unwavering faith in the Captain’s natural laws
that give me hope, and
mother nature’s ardent storm that
comforts me, knowing the winds of change will blow you
here and there, but that you'll always return to our divine destination
