"Naiad" by Seb McKinnon
Introduction
This is my first Dechnad Cummaisc, and because it is describing Seb McKinnon's amazing image, it is also Ekphrastic.
I discovered this beautiful image on Goddess Central on Facebook, here:

Very beautiful Mike, your talent is amazingπ¦πΊπ¦
Ah that image is fantastic and I had never heard of that form before. This had such an evocative feel to it and like Les said felt and sounded like a poem from long ago. Great job and well done for it introducing us to another intriguing form.
Beautiful, gentle words for a lovely fairy. The one who disappears within the droplets of a beautiful lake. π
The combination of poetic form artwork and musical inspiration makes this feel like a complete artistic experience.
Oo very skillfull! I love this one. Reads like a poem of olden days.
Lovely, your fairy tales are always so wonderful. A fantastic way to start the morning. ππππ
Your willingness to experiment with new, poetic forms sets a splendid example for us all, Mikeydred, and as an avid creator of ekphrastics (albeit in the dusty from of the Shakespearian sonnet) I thoroughly enjoyed this one!
Both that image and your poem are so beautiful ππππ
This is another poem that is going to lead me to reading more mythology and maybe writing some poems and/or stories. The poem is one of fluid motion for I could see the naiad rise from the water in that way. Good job.
I love water and naiads. John William Waterhouse did a painting of a naiad: https://byronsmuse.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/1893.-john-william-waterhouse-the-naiad-1893.jpg
