My Scars Bleed Stardust

A Street Light Interference Poem.

By Street Light InterferencePublished 4 months ago Updated 4 months ago 1 min read

Don't romanticize who I am

I'm just a man

Sometimes a boy

Depends on who you ask

A late bloomer

Figured out yesterday

Still question my footing

Still learning how to stand

*

Trust in this

My scars bleed stardust

*

The life I walked

I figured out a day too late

Never great at this whole life game

If you seem amazed at who I am

I dodged a lot of bullets to stand where I'm at

*

Far from perfect,

most of the time

Just lost…

*

On a late night walk

Luna's guiding light

Front foot just out of sight

And I might fall off

Into the ocean

And let the stars take me

Swim parallel to the shore

And laugh,

because now nothing can claim me

Dry off, we'll fight with toy guns in the sand

I'm just as human as you

Not the superhero you assume
