My Lost Keys

They fell out of my pants pocket.

By Darla M SeelyPublished 3 months ago Updated 3 months ago 1 min read

I used to have two sets of keys.

Now I have only one set.

Instead of putting them in my purse,

I put them in my pants pocket.

I only needed a few things

At my favorite grocery store.

I put the money I thought I needed

In my pants pocket with my keys.

I didn't have much time

'Cause I had a job interview later.

I bought the things I needed

Then headed out the door.

While I was in the store,

It had rained hard a few minutes.

Before I got to my car,

I fell into a mud puddle.

I'm sure people saw me fall

Which caused my pants to tear.

I reached into my pocket

Which now had a hole.

The keys were not there"

"They must be in the puddle," I thought.

The rain had started again.

Hunting for them would probably be futile.

I hunted for them anyway.

Of couse I could not find them.

I could not have my job interview.

I would need to have new keys made.

Oh no, what a day! You really captured that feeling of everything going wrong at once.
