My Hunt For A Mate

Our love was right.

By Darla M SeelyPublished 3 months ago Updated 3 months ago 1 min read

We met at DI thrift store,

And both of us were poor.

The job paid minimum wage;

Now go to the next page. (in our story)

I saw him most very day.

My sister got in the way.

Se felt we had jumped the gun,

But was not the only one.

Sis wrote things that hurt me.

Of course I did not agree.

I shared my heart with my "man."

He was my number one fan.

I hunted for answers inside.

My heart ached, was filled with pride.

For both of us, love felt right.

We did not put up a fight.

We felt it right from the start,

And we could not be apart.

Met in Feb, engaged in May.

Our first date went to a play.

You see, my hunt was not wrong.

Gil helped my faith to be strong.

My sis warmed up to him soon.

Wed in October, not June.

God told me marriage was right.

In bed he would hold me tight.

We have hardly ever "fought."

I'm grateful for all we've got.

Gratitude
