I've Hunted To Find Myself
I used to be shy.

When I was small, I was shy;
But in school I'd alwys try.
Two subjects were hard for me.
I'd get a C or a D.
In high school I did not date.
Most of the time I felt great.
I chose to play basketball.
My coaches made me feel small.
At practice I did my best,
Studied hard to pass each test.
There were nights I did not play
And words I wanted to say.
I wanted to cry and scream,
Be part of the winning team.
Coaches had no faith in me.
I'm sure my friends would agree.
Some of my friends were the stars,
And they fought the battle wars.
In track I had more support.
It was my favorite sport.
Friends and I were not close-knit.
In college-learned to stand tall.
Favorite teachers I had.
They made me happy, not sad.
3.3 was my G.PA.
The clarinet I got to play.
Pep Band for me was quite fun,
Activities in the sun.
I loved cheering for boys' sports teams,
And one of them reached their dream.
A football team - champions
They worked hard and had fun.
I went to West Side High School.
Every student there was cool.
Everyone knew each other --
Every man, woman, brother.
