My Human heart

My Human heart

By Mathilda PercyPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Oh this human heart

That beets in my mortal fresh

This monster caged in my blood

That fights my bones to brake

 Oh why cursed human heart

You do wish so badly to bleed

 Don’t you know

My lungs are already starved or this life

This fire needs your rage

Don’t crumble for their thorns

Don’t burn for their fire

Don’t fall into a darkness

That we weren’t born in

 Grow your own terrible thorns

Let your rage fuel your fire

Deepen your lethal darkness

And then when you find someone worthy of breaking you

Oh foolish human heart

 Show them the place

Between the ash and thorns

So smooth and so gentle

Show them the warmth

Your bloody fire bleeds

Show them the light

Your inky darkness bore
