Because I am just a man
I still have feelings
I wanted to grow old together
To hold your hand forever
I wanted to be your lover
The focus of your lifelong plan
I failed because I am just a man.
πββοΈπ¨π¨βπ¦°π¨βπ¦³π¨βπ¦²πββοΈ
Just a desire for someone to love
But with no special graces from above
A mortal being of flesh and blood
I could not finish what I began
Messed it up because I am just a man.
πββοΈπ¨π¨βπ¦°π¨βπ¦³π¨βπ¦²πββοΈ
I messed it up, I got it wrong,
Had the right words, but the wrong song,
Was it me, or did you play a part?
Do I try again? Do I think I can?
Iβll probably stuff it up, because I am just a man.
πββοΈπ¨π¨βπ¦°π¨βπ¦³π¨βπ¦²πββοΈ
Men have feelings, they have hearts too,
Why do women think itβs all about you
Some men are also sensitive and kind
We are not really that difficult to understand
Donβt write me off because I am just a man.

As a mother to a son, I love this. I come from a family of men hating women and that stopped with me. I love your poem ππ great work.
This is great, Calvin!πππ

I would encourage you to think about these lines below and try again. In every relationship, each part always plays a part, in one way or another. A relationship with someone is about 'two' not 'one.' So yes, she played a part without a doubt. You are only 50% of that relationship. Once I talked about communication and that it has to be completely transparent and open. I would encourage you to try again. :) "Was it me, or did you play a part? Do I try again? Do I think I can?" I would also encourage you to put all these poems together in an eBook, publish them on Amazon, send her a copy. :) The poem is beautiful, it's sincere, it speaks about vulnerability, sensitivity, and above all, a great love that lives in your heart. Time keeps running. Use it wisely. All the best to you, Calvin.
I loved the vulnerability of this message! So true...men get labeled and get a bad rap from the mistakes the man before them made.
