My Heart is Neon

What color is yours?

By Kalin GabriellePublished 5 years ago 1 min read
Radiate your light at full blast

When my heart is open –

sizzling, scalding lava

the color red

It gargles at the base of my insides

twirling up

as the colors change from orange to yellow to teal, lime green

I am neon.

Magic takes flight

candle flame flickers

FIRE

Queen of Hearts

I am neon.

Standing alone

at the top of a mountain in Indonesia

lost and dirty and by far

the most empowered I have ever been

I laid my Moped on its side and stretched my arms heartspan

“I will forever love myself more than anyone ever,” I vowed.

Surrendering

to a crisp pile of fall leaves

burying myself in memories

and laughter

Inside my heart

my niece, Pepper is curled into a ball on my chest,

her tiny fingers wrapping my cheek

I open my heart and beam her ALL of it

she sleeps with a soft smile

It’s in every hug I give,

my light radiating at full blast

tucked inside my down comforter and white bed sheets,

whimsical wind floating through my curtains, circulating

French cade lavender through the air

When my spine twists:

Kundalini, chakras, tears – release.

Inside my heart

I am free

I’m singing

I’m on a swingset pumping my legs, flying high

pen to blank page

my own voice.

laughter that starts deep in my soul

making its way to my tear ducts, streaking my face

Inside my heart

every window is down

my foot

heavy on the gas

as music takes over

iced coffee through a straw

energy burst

jolt

charming

witty

fun

explosion of joy through passion

a deep, raw, eye-opening

life-changing conversation

a sunray

a bubble bath

a full circle

bliss.

Inside my heart

I’m on a plane

floating through time

I’m in my own adventure

taking flight

I am alive

open

free

and believe

I'm not coming down from here anytime soon

My heart is neon.

What color is yours?
