My Heart Cried Instead of me
-
My heart cried instead of me
so its broken tears will be concealed.
I felt the dampness in hidden chambers,
where filtered steel will be revealed.
-
Brethren of my many rivers
are fists of ice at springs to freeze
any emotion that dares be felt
and any threat that chill can cease.
-
Driven by a desperation
to find living beneath a life.
Strewn about are fallen bruises
silently screaming of searing strife.
-
Drug my veins with love and joy.
Pain my lashes in shades of light.
Change the tears to sweat of warmth.
Set aglow the blacks of night.
-
Crack my heart till it's not there.
Cry my tears till I can't see.
Blend my blood in sunset's peace.
Break me till I can no longer be.
