My Dream Lover

Always mine and mine alone

My Dream Lover

I think I died a thousand times

The minute you held me in your arms.

Your lips so warm, your hold so tight,

I wanted to stay making love with you, all night.

But soon the nighttime turned to day,

And I awoke, and my dream had gone away.

It may have been just a dream,

But to me, it’s what life could have been.

I reach for you in the empty air,

Tracing the warmth that isn’t there.

The scent of you lingers, real and sweet,

A lover once known but never to meet.

Perhaps in sleep, I’ll find you again,

In shadowed clouds, where dreams begin.

For in that world, you are mine to keep,

A love that lives where dreamers weep.😢
