My Dearest, Moon

My beautiful guide

I look forward to seeing you each evening, even if only for a moment.

I went out in the night and sought, but could not find you.

Once again, I looked into the night sky, seeking you...

Perhaps you are hiding behind the trees-making sure your worshipers worry for you.

Where have you been, Dear Moon? Where have you been?

I have seen proof of your existence, yet not your face this week.

Where have you been, Dear Moon? Where have you been?

Was last week "your" week, Dear Moon? I think not.

I believe this is a new stage for you, My Dearest Moon.

I woke early with intentions of greeting the sun. Who was there instead?

You! Illustrious in the magnificent colors of the sunrise.

The sun could not be found.

Dear Moon, you are ravishing in your fullness- so much so, the sun refused to rise, in your honor.

Your beauty is beyond compare!

You shone so richly on the fields;

Your glow, subtle and inconspicuous.

How, Dear Moon, are you so divine?

How is it your pull can cause course changes?

How is it that your glory is somehow beyond glorious?

What a design!

What a fabulous creation you are!

Allow me just a few minutes more to absorb your celebrity.

About the Creator

Hart Bugg

I have been writing or at least creating narratives, for as long as I can recall. I am terrified to be here, but I am sure this is where my story will begin. I have resisted being public with my writing. It is like me, unconventional.
