My Black Diamond

glistening in the moonlight

By Amanda Moore-KarimPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

My Black Diamond,

there are so many thoughts I'd like to share with you,

to restore the dreams of us that are buried beneath my heart.

But, you see, My Black Diamond,

I don't have the strength to come towards you

with such moxie, audaciousness and confidence.

I want you, though.

My Black Diamond,

glistening in the moonlight

propelling against my windowpane,

I crave harmony,

for us,

for you to fulfill my undying wish.

My Black Diamond,

I am not equipped to possess something as rare,

as you,

and you know it.

And if I come forth,

I know your wisdom of your exuberance

will pain me

of the demons I intentionally avoided.

You are a luxury.

And, I know I cannot provide the same energy I once had.

Your awareness to your rarity and beauty

has resurfaced a discomfort within my subconscious.

Because I never deserved you.

So, I'll continue to watch you glisten

in the moonlight

propelling against my windowpane.
