Mourning You
In the month of February
By Amanda Moore-KarimPublished 3 years ago • Updated 3 years ago • 1 min read

Days go by
With a cabinet of empty water glasses
Buds in the ashtray
Wine bottles on the kitchen floor
As I mourn the loss of you
But the day doesn't come
The month we departed
Creeps up on my heart
Tickling discomfort
Anticipated grief
That consumes my body
But the day doesn't come
February blues
I think of you
The abandonment
From this life we shared
But the day doesn't come
For about two more years.
