Let’s paint a picture today, said the artist.

The picture is something on your mind

But the hands are mine.

The art is on your lips

And the canvas is mine.

I don’t want it to be beautiful.

I want it to be as ugly as it can be.

I want to see the real art,

the chaos,

the trouble inside.

Anybody can be beautiful,

But do you know how to express your ugly?

Maybe, you’ve been lied to the whole time.

The whole time about,

how truly beautiful this world is.

Hear me out,

Don’t get me wrong

But how do you appreciate beauty without the deep dark side?

How will you appreciate it when it is not as beautiful as it seemed?

How will you take care of it?

If you don’t understand how it feels,

To be deep,

In the dark.

When I look at your canvas, which I painted,

I see the real beauty.

The beauty of how chaotic you are.

The beauty of how silent you can be.

The beauty of how flawed your perfect is.

I am just sitting here

Painting you.

One day, when we meet,

I will give you the canvas as a gift from me.

Please don’t be surprised,

If you see your reflection

Because it was never the canvas,

Just a mirror showing you,

The You I need.
