Murderous mystery
Who do you believe?

And so dear friends it comes to this:
Our despicable death-dealing authoress,
Whose tales of mystery and murder enthral,
But who has deceived us, one and all.
0 ~
The victim? A housemaid: dutiful, loyal,
Has shuffled off this mortal coil.
Not content, she wanted more.
Saint or sinner, maiden, whore?
0 ~
The husband, his folly plain to be seen.
He tried to keep his record clean,
Yet heady infatuation prevailed,
But was it his, or was it the girl's?
0 ~
Now our three players are introduced,
What from their evidence can be deduced?
Perhaps there is one more character left.
Surely, the book of the deed we must test?
