Mundane

Mundane

I wake up.

Get dressed.

Eat my usual breakfast.

Almond butter, coconut oil, and white toast.

Maybe an extra scoop of almond butter.

Because sometimes you have to live it up…

Right?

The drive to school is winding.

The cars next to me.

I never turn to see who’s driving or sitting.

I did once.

The first person; a little girl.

She wore bow on a head of brown curls.

The bow was pink; it matched her cheeks.

The dad wore a white collared shirt. He looked like a sheep.

The mom sat next to the dad; she was blonde and dazzled and apathetic to life.

Her life.

I don’t know why I remember these people.

I do.

Maybe I’ll call my sister today.

We were given another assignment.

Three more log lines.

How many more does he want before we actually start writing?

I get it, Doc. One tablet a day.

Everyday.

No need to keep repeating the words.

I know you like the sound of your voice.

That makes one of us.

One tablet a day with food.

One tablet a day.

For the rest of my life.

Shut up already!

David’s friend is here.

Wonder if he has to take the pill everyday, too.

So quiet.

Mundane?

David’s working out.

Guess I should too…

Maybe I’ll rest my eyes first.

I’ll just lay here…

It’s 7 p.m.

Maybe I can still go.

Maybe I’ll just walk to Del Taco and call it a day. I mean, that’s exercise…

Right?

I’m just going to rest my eyes a little bit more…

10 p.m.

I should go eat…

What is wrong with this guy? I get it, he works at Del Taco, but…

But!

He repeats the order back to me exactly like Doc.

Exactly like Doc.

That was good, it was definitely time to eat.

What now?

I should work on those three log lines…

Maybe I’ll watch Conan first.

Conan. Conan. Good ole Conan!

I wonder how grandpa’s doing…

Maybe I’ll call him tomorrow…

I’ll do that.

Those Log lines.

Three Log Lines.

Maybe if I watch a movie…

I’ll get something to work with.

Not Magnolia.

Too long.

Not X-2.

Seen it three times this year.

Dallas Buyers Club.

Too close to home.

The Dark Knight.

That works.

That nurse outfit.

Never mundane.

Best Joker ever.

Gone forever.

Gone yet forever remembered.

Monumental endeavor.

Those log lines.

Three log lines.

I’ll get to them…

Maybe I’ll rest my eyes first.

I know.

How…

Mundane.
