Mr. Be-There

A ballad for her

I’ll be there for the laughter,

And the sadder times we fear

I’ll be there if you love me

Or even hate me through your tears

Though time can wear down mountains,

For you I’ll never move.

One thing is for certain,

I’m made to be with you.

I welcome all the crying,

Both the happy and the sad.

Among the saddest nights I’ve shared with you,

Are the best I’ve ever had.

I wouldn’t trade a moment,

Not the hardest or any other,

To spare myself the trouble

Of falling deeper for my lover

-----

For all the promises I ever broke

And the words that went to waste

None are more tragic than the ones I spoke

While tears rolled down her face.
