Seeking a Safe Place

...the journey from pain to freedom

By Pam Sievert-RussomannoPublished about 4 hours ago 1 min read

“Create” (verb): to bring something into existence or to cause it to happen; to produce or bring about by a course of action or behavior.

The spirit of rejection, rejects.

I saw that, felt that, and refused it.

Its not, “I’ll reject you before you can reject me.”

It’s “I’ll risk rejection in pursuit of love.”

Create the space you want to love in.

A heart of flesh from a heart of stone

Is the best way to nurture survival.

You can’t stay mad to avoid the tears,

Lighten the load and let it go.

Create the space you want to live in.

It’s rumored that Merlin said to Arthur in Camelot

“When it’s painful and you’re frozen in place,

Learn something new.”

Challenge the something that will break the mold.

Create the space you want to grow in.

People will tell you what you should and should not do

But they are wrong, it’s up to you.

There is much that life requires of us, no doubt,

Of responsibility and expectations, we never chose.

Create the space where your time and talents flourish.

Rejection, deferred hope, and lost ambition must end -

Replace them with acceptance, expectation, and motivation.

The pathway is never smooth, the process unrelenting.

But when the healing comes, as it most certainly will,

You’ll be in the space you created, that’s worthy of you.
