Mother's Day for a sweet mother

A special day like today

which should be like no other day

I get up and realize

today is mother's day.

I picked up my phone

and decide to text home

to tell my mom who lives alone

I was so happy to be born.

A mother so sweet

Whose personality is cool and neat

whose kisses does beat

the hurt that feels like hells heat.

I miss you every day

although you're only hours away

If only I was able to pay my way

I'd come see you everyday

I love you more than words can say

you tried to show me in every way

the price a mother has to pay

for caring for her children everyday.

I love your sweet smile

for you I'd go an extra mile

and all the while... well...just smile.
