if tomorrow were to start without me

I know this bright blue ball would still turn

although for you,

it may well stop

but I promise it will be okay

because even when I’m gone

my love for you will never fade away

every cerulean wave

that crashes on the sandy ocean’s shore,

each twinkle from the first star you see at night,

every morning where the fog sets in

as you peer through hazy eyes of sleep

and the dawn dazzles you from a solitary dew drop on a blade of grass,

each will be my infinite reminder to you

of how deeply my love flows

no matter where my body may be

I leave you with my spirit

as I teach you while you’re young to notice beauty in my mother

may she guide you when I no longer can

may you love her as much as I have
