Mother earth, I hear you sing

A poem of love and celebration for the colorful mosaic of our souls and the grace of our earth.

Mother earth, I hear you sing with all the colors of the rainbow

Soft and sweet you hang gently on each smile

And the tears of the sky and the heavenly isle

Grand and dewy like the dance of the meadow

Birthing light and rising shadow

I hear the cry for the revolution. The plea is fertile

With hope. Still separation is our greatest rile

We forget the power of our unified crescendo

As we listen to the symphony of our history

Beguiled in courage and wrought with fear

Do we remember? The flow of the river in our veins

The weeping of the ocean that echoes our pains

Have we forgotten why we are here?

To love, to be loved and listen to the cosmic mystery

Do we remember where we came from?

Radiating our unique light from the source of all

Holding one another up when we fall

The wind carries a gentle hum

Listen to what we have become

The rupture has broken us open to answer the call

To move past the violent present and break down the wall

Face the roaring of our plight and our ancestors drum

Know each of our diverse colors are woven into time and space

Every shade precious and necessary

Illuminating truths and revelation

Ready for change and bold emanation

Reawakening the bones of hope laying in the cemetery

We bloom from the ashes and remember grace

Violet light pours into our mother’s crown

With tender guidance and divine knowing

Her all seeing eye opens and our wisdom is growing

On an indigo starlit evening we try not to drown

In the lies that fog our minds and drag us down

Our throats proclaim the truth, vast, blue and glowing

The love in the forest of our hearts is flowing

Green with promise

An infinite field

An earthly gown

Faith found in the tender yellow sunflower

And golden honey pours into our warm center

Abundant, vibrant, creative and boundless

Her womb an orange sunset. Bearing the glory in and around us

A safe haven is found in the red root and we are ready to enter

The realm of the sacred and our abundant power

Mother earth, I hear you sing with all the colors of the rainbow

Soft and sweet you hang gently on each smile

And the tears of the sky and the heavenly isle

Grand and dewy like the dance of the meadow

Birthing light and rising shadow

From the highest peak to the depths of the Nile

All are welcome here. Beyond the expanse of every mile

Every hue, setting our earth aglow

The fire of our pride and love glistening out from within

And the bright mosaic can be seen by all

Creating a masterpiece of rarity

We need one another. We have found our clarity

May the peace we are seeking expand eternal and tall

Allowing every color to shine. This is where we begin

Mother earth, I hear you sing with all the colors of the rainbow

Soft and sweet you hang gently on each smile

And the tears of the sky and the heavenly isle

Grand and dewy like the dance of the meadow

Birthing light and rising shadow
