These memories oppressing me
I prayed that You’d erase
Impulsive thoughts I cannot stop
I wish I could replace
Your standard is my standard too
It’s Your ways I embrace
But everyday I’m falling short
I’m just not keeping pace
I haven’t earned Your blessings, Lord
I’m such a wasted case
I don’t deserve to dwell with You
Or look upon Your face
I’ve read, “I know My plans for you”
That scripture is my base
The mustard seed of faith I have
Says, You will always chase
I’m chief among the sinners, God
Within the human race
My hope is You will bless me with
Your ever-loving grace
