Upon waking
Morning coffee in hand
I open the sliding doors to the back deck
Overlooking the serene river
Peacefulness in the early morning
Before the sun rises
It’s just me
And the birds softly singing in the background
The water is still
The sun is slowly rising
All is calm
It’s just me
Only for a moment
Before the chaos of the day starts
It couldn’t be more perfect
