Morning Jolt
Just put an IV in my arm,
And fill it with caffeine.
My eyes will be the widest
That you have ever seen.
I need a jolt of coffee
To start my day off right.
A cup before I go to bed?
Won’t keep me up at night!
I drink a pot throughout the day;
It sure does keep me going.
I race around; my heart gets pumped –
Without me even knowing.
A whiff of fresh ground coffee beans
Titillates my brain.
Where’s the pot? Oh, where’s my cup –
Before I go insane?
I need a cup of coffee,
Lest from my mouth, I foam.
I’ll go and put a fresh pot on –
And stop this silly poem.
