More than a token

love left unspoken

What I wouldn’t give for one more smile,

one more chance to kiss your lips

To whisper words unsaid, Truths left unspoken

Our love was so much more than a token.

We were the ones others longed to be,

back when it was you and me,

Our song would play, we’d start to dance

Under starry nights and summer skies

Wrapped in your arms, safe and loved,

Until the day you said goodbye

Shattered pieces of my bleeding heart,

Left my world falling apart

Forever, once was spoken

Yet fate had other plans,

I’ve come to find there’s

Nothing left but a token

of the love we once shared

heartbreak
