Moonshine Dancer

Daring for the night

By Marie EllenPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
A Dreamer

Flickering lights fail me not

Sun turns to moon, and falling night splits the velvet ribbon of sunlight,

Wrapped beneath a sheet of perfect blue.

Clothes undress, and then on again.

This time, sequinned, glittered colours awaken my sleeping senses

And I turn my gaze to the shiny mirror, narrowed by rejected clothes choices.

Pink, green and more party colours win again, I will choose what to wear tonight,

And finally settle the score in the honest and daring moonlight.

A blaze of energy fills my lungs as I start getting amped to some tunes

Stereo on, quick salty glass of a blueberry raspberry brew.

But Alcohol in it, has not, for satisfied am I

With glitz and music and diamonds a-plenty to make my spirit soar high.

Some call me a dancer, a whimsical one,

Some called me a sinner, but I am not one.

I am born of the red earthern soil in a land brighter than gold,

This land, this landscape, these stretches of untouched sandy beaches, so many

This has made my spirit so keen; to invoke in a world of dreams and possibilities

And reach out for things unseen.

My faith like a rocket to the sky it soars, rising with hot, hot sun

And turning a sunset dance to a jive this night has only begun.

Its 10:00, but oh what rot, for time is just a mere number

My shoes are on its time to groove, I'm dressed for success

For the Rumba

I, a dreamer dance for fun but not just for that reason

I sway, I move because life calls me to joyous times and surprise in the seasons

So DJ split the night, and colours pour through with all that's right, under these lights the moment is new

And tomorrow sun will wake my soul to breathe in something sweet, fresh new.

Fresh flowers fill the air, and I am lost in a daze of I don't care....

But you know I care.

And I'm here, when I'm there!
