By George’s Girl 2024
Money she spends
Money burned her fingers,
She would spend, spend, spend,
No thought of tomorrow,
No care, none to lend.
Coins would jingle,
Notes would fly,
Gone in a blink,
Like clouds in the sky.
A new dress, a feast,
A trinket, a toy,
Each purchase a moment
Of reckless joy.
But as days passed,
Her hands felt bare,
Money burned her fingers,
and then none was there.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️
