Moleskine: Lord of the Mood Rings

often
when the sun is rising,
i close my eyes and melt into the hues that dance before them.
strong rays pierce through and illuminate bright yellows, golden ochre,
shadows provide some comfort with amber, deep auburn, undertones of ruby.
the movement and rhythm is lyrical, fluid, mesmerizing;
by the time I’ve focused on one colour it has seamlessly rippled into the next,
full of mother nature’s excitement as she gives birth to a new day.
it’s funny –
closing your eyes, yet seeing so much.
and in these quiet moments I think to myself,
if I had worn a mood ring,
the colour would be ‘happy’.
