Mockingbird on Trial
Unmasking Innocence and Injustice in Harper Lee’s Deep South
By mitty anegoPublished 7 months ago • 1 min read

In a town of dust and deep divide,
Where secrets and shadows often hide,
A mockingbird sings soft and true,
Of justice lost, and hatred too.
Young Scout walks paths both brave and wide,
With Atticus firm at her side.
Tom stands trial, truth denied—
While Boo, unseen, still guards with pride.
Innocence clashes with cruel might,
In black and white, in wrong and right.
Yet through the pain, a lesson grows:
Empathy is how one knows.
So hush the hate, and hear the call—
A mockingbird should never fall.
Let kindness be what breaks the wall.
