when I'm stuck in my head

it's a game that I play

mixing words that were said

changing things that I say

hoping to be free

from the shackles that bind

finally feeling complete

leaving the world behind

another image of me

exposing where I belong

where the things that I see

unresolved right or wrong

I like how the different messages in this convey the idea of being stuck in your own thoughts. “ hoping to be free from the shackles that bind” is such a big line in both readings too.

  • This felt very relatable! Loved your poem!

  • A mind game of dyslexia, word jumbles creating new possibilities whether for good or ill, entertaining or excusing oneself before returning to reality.
