Mental Thoughts by The River

As the water flows, so does our brains

Constant flowing and forever gushing,

Just like all the thoughts in my brain,

As they float on pieces of paper,

One after the other,

Forever moving downstream with

the water.

Does the river have a mind?

Maybe our minds are just like a river,

After all if one thinks too much,

We can drown in our thoughts.

Paper one asks,

"Why am I always the bad one?"

Paper two asks,

"Why is my life always hell?"

Paper three states,

"Everybody hates me!"

In this life;

We make mistakes,

We don't always get things right,

And,

We put up a constant fight.

The clouds above me start to darken,

And the river becomes noisy,

As the water rushes faster,

Almost as if it will run out of time,

And burst the banks,

Before the storm has calmed.

The river feels anger when peace is

disturbed,

Just like we do when our minds

Are in torment;

But as the storm calms,

The river finds inner peace,

And the environment is tranquil,

Reminding us that no matter

how much our minds ruminate,

As the water flows, so does our

brains;

Though,

We can find peace after the storm.
