Memories Of Past Memorial Days
Respect of the flag
Memorial Day for me has always been the
event, the reminder of what was sacrificed so that we
may live. The gratitude for those who sacrificed their
own lives for family and country, seventy-one years to prepare
Real heroes came home from the war, while others
in coffins were honored and celebrated as someone's brothers.
And then more sisters were added to this
list. A list in my family that went on and on to reminisce
~~
Death from war makes for a hero everlasting
And many younger ones do not have this connecting
Yesterday with today and the flag of the United States of America.

Gorgeous writing Denise! What a wonderful tribute! 🌸
This Memorial Day reflection really makes you think. It's powerful to remember those who gave everything. I've always felt a deep sense of gratitude on this day too. It's important to keep these sacrifices in mind. Do you think we're doing enough to ensure younger generations understand the significance of Memorial Day? How can we better connect the past to the present for them?
