Melancholy Way

I look at you and think to myself…

in a dusty-red-headed-step-child-corner-of-my-mind, I think…

that you’re handsome, with a great smile,

you have a picturesque traditional family,

complete with a wife, a son and a daughter.

You have everything that is beautiful and sweet.

Yet, here I lay on my bed,

feeling compassion for your soul,

because deep down in the pit of my heart,

I know you’re not fully satisfied.

There is something more that you desire, deserve and search for endlessly.

I see it through the portal of your eyes.

I’m so sorry for this phenomenon,

as I have no way to help you at all,

other than to feel this melancholy way.

Oh, this one’s got a nice, deep vibe! You’ve got that blend of admiration and empathy down, like seeing someone who has it all but still searching for something more. It's got that casual, “I see you” feel while still being thoughtful. Such a cool mix of emotions!✨👏

Oh, this "melancholy way" is so relatable 🤝 There are times when we see a sacracy of 'love' in others but can't help do nothing... The best portal to go through the pain of others is indeed eyes ✨ Loved your poem 🤝
