medusa (my revenge)

when i wake up and get out of bed

(the ghost of you tried to chain me to it again)

when i cherish my scarred up body

(the physical ones left long ago, but i still see them)

when i leave my home

(i have to, only you belong in a prison cell)

when i go to work

when i go to the movies

when i hang out with my friends

(the world never stops turning)

when i forgave you

(and took away your power)

when i sing

when i smile

when i laugh

when i breathe

when i turned what you did into strength

my revenge

is surviving

and then living
