Medium McBanter Meal

a grease trap soliloquy

By BrenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

clutching old thoughts

on a new afternoon

scrambling cold noughts

and the forthcoming soon

tearing open old ideas

casting humility aside

lip syncing new tears

topping up on pride

stabbing empty pressures

whittling away the queue

countersinking sunken measures

destabilise the view

moody bastards huff and puff

a worried world of hurried smell

brimstone fresh paint and other stuff

just off the highway to hell

holding onto empty yesterdays

like a dog eared page in a book

thinking about all the different ways

that this that and the other took

smiling from the inside out

just a shadow of the ... grin

sometimes you simply need to shout

you get everything to stay in

sometime the world will catch you

right just before the slip

sometimes the joke will fizzle and pop

leaving the remnants of a quip

there is no early there is no late

and its the only proper decency

just gotta find and resonate

on the same frequency

Lyrical part of your soul? I can see the triangle of your poetry themes: a decent, indecent, and glorious centre. I like them all, but I think I see the most of You in the glorious centre.
