Meant to be

Were we meant to be?

Or was it just fantasy?

It’s hard to tell what’s true

When people hide themselves from you

Trying to find love

Is like rooting through a garden of foxglove

With a potential to kill

Is it worth climbing that hill?

Some would say yes

Despite the terrible mess

Others would say no

Because that’s one less foe

But I remain undecided

Lest I get blindsided

Some might say it’s a cop-out

But it’s one less thing to worry about

A heart full of scar tissue

Can be a real issue

But if you can make it to the other side

It’ll make for one hell of a ride

sad poetry
