Stay the same

Will anything stay the same?

Can anybody make that claim?

Sometimes it’s better to forget

Some of the people you’ve met

A bad influence to have around

Better to get a dog from the pound

I try to stay strong

To continuously move along

It’s difficult to do so

No matter how much I grow

But I keep trying

Otherwise to myself I’d be lying

I’ve never cared much for a liar

You’re better off being Tuck the friar

At least then you can say

God is your way

But that isn’t the case

And I start to wonder who I really face
