Running On Empty

A Poem

By Angel AdagioPublished about a year ago 1 min read

I can't give you more of nothing left in me.

I can't pour from a cup that has nothing left in it.

You want from this world more than I could ever give you.

You will use anything to fill your empty cup

no matter how many lives you empty in the process.

The damage is done

your mark has been left on lives

who now need to find a way to fill in their empty cups again.

Why was half full never enough for you?

I pity those that come after me

all those who you will suck dry

and leave them running on empty.
